Food & Drink

When you complete your transaction, you will receive an email from Jade.Bayley@jacobsmediagroup.com with further instructs on how to complete your nomination.

All entries for the Food & Drink categories must be sent during the hours of 7.00am - 2.30pm, Monday through Friday. Please see below for exact days of delivery in October.

It is very important that storage details are noted on the boxes of products delivered - ie Ambient, Chilled or Frozen.

We would ask you to send one case of your product as detailed below.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU PUT A DELIVERY LABEL ON THE TOP AND BOTH ENDS OF THE BOX YOU ARE DELIVERING TO WESTMINSTER KINGSWAY COLLEGE TO HELP WITH DELIVERY AND LOCATION OF YOUR PRODUCTS.

Delivery times detailed below depend on which type of product you are sending in. Please note that goods will not be accepted outside of these hours.


ALL AMBIENT PRODUCTS (with long shelf life)

(Soft drinks, canned products, alcoholic beverages, confectionery, snacks, hot beverages, accompaniments, biscuits, cakes and all long life products)

Deliveries accepted from Tuesday 13 October - Tuesday 26 October, between 7am and 2.30pm. Please note that goods will not be accepted outside of these hours.


FROZEN AND CHILLED GOODS IN ALL CATEGORIES (with long shelf life)

Deliveries accepted from Tuesday 13 October - Tuesday 26 October, between 7am and 2.30pm. Please note that goods will not be accepted outside of these hours.


CHILLED PRODUCTS (with a short shelf life - but safe for 10 days)

Deliveries accepted from Tuesday 13 October - Tuesday 26 October, between 7am and 2.30pm. Please note that goods will not be accepted outside of these hours.


If your product has a shorter shelf life please contact Paul Jervis (Paul.Jervis@westking.ac.uk) to establish a mutually acceptable delivery date.

IF A PRODUCT NEEDS SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE RELEVANT EQUIPMENT IS SENT WITH THE SAMPLES AND COLLECTED FROM THE COLLEGE ON MONDAY 16 SEPTEMBER


Please ensure that the following is enclosed with your products for the Food & Drink Award categories:

a) list of ingredients

b) clear cooking instructions for each entry

c) storage instructions

Equipment

When you complete your transaction, you will receive an email from Jade.Bayley@jacobsmediagroup.com with further instructs on how to complete your entry and upload supporting documents.


Smaller equipment (eg beverage making and dispense, crockery, tableware, cutlery, glassware and food preparation items) will be required to be delivered to the judging venue for testing by the judges. Please send products by Friday 29 October to:

Rules of Entry

• Products that have been on the market and in foodservice from 1 January 2020 to the 13 August 2021 are eligible to be entered.
• Products previously entered into the Product Excellence Awards are eligible to re-enter.
• Products at development stage are not eligible to be entered.
• Smaller equipment (eg beverage making and dispense, crockery, tableware, cutlery, glassware and food preparation items) will be required to be delivered to the judging venue for testing by the judges.
• There is no limit to the number of entries per company.
• The equipment does not have to be a brand new launch (see dates above).
• Awards for equipment will go to the manufacturer.
• Food and Drink products entered must be for human consumption.
• Food and Drink products must be provided in foodservice packaging for the judging no later than the dates listed above.
• Details of where and how to send samples for the judging are listed above, you will receive a reminder closer to the judging.
• Please advise which specific product you wish to be judged, ranges of products will not be judged
• The organisers undertake to prepare products for tasting according to the printed instructions on the packs / or instructions provided by the supplier
• It is the duty of the manufacturer to supply full cooking instructions with each product sample sent for judging.
• The organisers reserve the right to change the categories and the judging panel without notice to the entrants.
• The organiser reserves the right to accept or reject entries.
• The decision of the judging panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• It is a condition of entry that all entrants will be bound by these rules.
• Incomplete entries will be penalised by the judges.
